Whistler Presents: New Year’s Eve Celebrations

Location: Various venues in Whistler Village | Time: 6:00 PM - Midnight
Put on your NYE wristband and head to enjoy the celebrations in Whistler Village in a family-friendly, alcohol free environment. All venues are within walking distance with roving street characters, sparkling lights and entertainment along the way. The Whistler New Year’s Eve Celebration venues are recommended for ages 3-13, with a teen dance for ages 13-17. Venues will be open from 6 - 11 PM featuring arts, crafts, entertainment, a teen dance, music and exciting performances. Wristbands are $12.50 per person when purchased between December 1 - 2016 and $15.00 when purchased December 30 & 31, 2016. Starting at 11:30 PM in Skiers Plaza there will be a special edition Fire & Ice Show plus a dazzling fireworks display to ring in the New Year (wristbands not required). No need to drive! The Resort Municipality of Whistler is providing free public transit within Whistler from 6 PM December 31, 2016 to 4 AM on January 1, 2017.

Art Exhibit: From Geisha to Diva - The Kimono of Ichimaru

Location: Audain Art Museum
Head over to the Audain Art Museum for the newest art exhibit, From Geisha to Diva: The Kimono of Ichimaru. A geisha is defined as an “accomplished person” or “person who lives by the arts”. These women were professional entertainers and hostesses, who became an important part of traditional social life for men in Japan. This exhibition showcases several kimonos and personal objects belonging to one of Japan’s most famous geisha, Ichimaru.

RBC GranFondo Whistler

Location: Vancouver, Sea to Sky Highway, Whistler Olympic Plaza
Ride this epic 122 km route from Vancouver to Whistler on the Sea to Sky Highway. Enjoy breathtaking views of Howe Sound and the Coast Mountains, with challenging climbs and plenty of downhill sections. Recreational, advanced and elite level cyclists are all welcome - ride at your own pace and arrive to a warm welcome and big post-race celebration in Whistler. Catch other special events including the Family Fundo Fun ride for kids. Your children will love the Family Fundo, where a special bike course will be set up just for kids to navigate. The Fundo is free for kids 12 and under, please bring your own helmet and bike and everyone who participates will receive a ribbon.
